I’m surprised that seeing you still has the power to move me.

The loss of you cuts keenly but I never dreamed we would part.

Missing you has become my way of life;

Suddenly you’re here and my heart forgets that I lost you twenty years ago.

My youthful self is unaware of the impending catastrophe,

Serenely waiting…never doubting your future together.

I want to scream at her, to end the peril of her ignorance.

I realize that changing time is easier than living without you again.
