Rated NC17

When they entered the house Kathryn and Chakotay could already hear Gretchen and Phoebe going at it. Kathryn stopped just inside the kitchen door and gave Chakotay a questioning look.  He grinned back at her and winked, then squeezed her hand reassuringly.  He’d inadvertently caused this mess and he’d be right there to help clean it up.  After all this was Kathryn’s family, he hoped that one day they would be his as well.

Kathryn gave a heavy sigh then nodded.  She held tightly to his hand as Chakotay started forward toward the angry voices.  Now Phoebe’s husband Dennis could be heard chiming in as well.

As the couple entered the Janeway living room, they could see Kathryn’s mother and sister squaring off against one another.  Phoebe was fit to be tied.  “That doesn’t change the fact that she let a total stranger into the back yard mother!”

Dennis sat on the sofa cradling a crying Katie-Jane while little Eddie stood by, his eyes wide.  Chakotay couldn’t help but notice that the boy looked to be completely entertained by the whole mess.

“Oh for goodness sake Phoebe!” Gretchen exclaimed.  “I don’t understand why you need to make such a mountain out of a mole hill.  But then you always were a bit of a tight-ass my dear.”

Now it was Chakotay whose eyes were popping; he’d never heard a mother speak to her own child that way.  Even when they deserved it.  The whole thing was too much for Eddie as well.  He may not have been old enough to understand what his grandma actually meant, but by the look on his mother’s face, he could tell it was very naughty.  He was suddenly overcome by a fit of the giggles.  He covered his mouth with his hands, but try as he might he couldn’t stop.  This served only to further enrage Phoebe.  “Oh that’s just great Mom.”  She barked as she pointed at her still snickering son.  “Swearing in front of the children.”

“What are you going to do?  Send me to my room without dinner too?”  Gretchen mocked.  At this a giggle soft enough for only Chakotay to hear, escaped Kathryn.

“I think,” Dennis interjected, “that you need to consider the fact that he was sitting on the porch of her grandmother’s house waiting for her Aunt.  Not *exactly* a stranger Phebes.”

She turned to her husband and shot him her version of the Janeway death glare.

Weak, thought Chakotay, you’re going to have to do better than that.  He wanted to laugh out loud when he compared her feeble attempt against Kathryn’s angry stare down.

“Dennis,” Phoebe sighed, “she doesn’t know him.  He could have been one of those insane journalists for all she knew.  Can you imagine what an unholy mess that would have been?”

“K-J?” Dennis questioned softly.  The little girl raised her head and nodded at her father.  “Tell us what happened will you?”  She looked tentatively at her mother, not wanting to get into any more trouble.  She said nothing and moved her gaze to an invisible spot on the floor.

“Katie,” Kathryn said softly.  “Come here will you sweetie?”  Kathryn knelt on the carpet and put her arms out to the little girl.  KJ came to her aunt and was caught up in a gentle hug.  “Katie baby, please tell us how you knew it was okay to bring Chakotay back into the yard.  There must be something you heard or saw that made you think it was okay.”

Katie-Jane nodded and looked up at Chakotay.  “He told me about his tattoo.  And then he said that he knew Aunty Kathy and how they had been good friends for a long long time.  Before Eddie was even born,” she said with wonder.  “Anyways he was very sad.  Just like my Aunty.”

“Hey! She’s my Aunty too ya know!” Eddie had finally found a way to interject himself into the conversation.  “Besides alls ya gotta do is look at the picture in her room.  He’s in it.”  The little boy said, pointing straight at Chakotay.  “Can we eat now?  I’m hungry!”

Phoebe looked at Dennis.  “Our children are degenerates.  They’re only five and they’re degenerates.”  She leveled her gaze upon her son.  “Excuse me young man, do you want to tell me what you were doing looking at the picture in your Aunt’s room?  Haven’t you been told about a million times to stay out of there?”

Eddie looked guilty, yet defiant.  “The door was open,” he mumbled by way of excuse.

“I know two little people who’ll be going straight to bed when we get home.”  Phoebe really hated to punish her children, but she had no idea what was going through their little minds.  Why they were sneaking about like a couple of spies.

“Magnificent,” Gretchen grumbled.  “I cooked enough for an army and by the time this is over the only one left to eat it is going to be Max!”  The dog barked excitedly as if realizing the contents of the large meal would go to the last one standing.

“Go on Katie-pie,” Kathryn urged her niece.  She was hoping that the child would say something that might get her off the hook.  As for Eddie, she hardly thought that looking at a picture in her room was grounds for that sort of punishment, but when her sister got angry…  “Finish telling us about what happened earlier.”

“Well Kotay was very sad and he said it was because he missed you, and you were very sad and I thought that maybe you were sad because you missed him too.  I thought I could make you both not be sad anymore.”

Kathryn was overcome by the sweetness of her niece’s gesture.  She gave the little girl a kiss on the cheek and then a smile.  Katie-Jane smiled back.

“What I don’t understand,” said Gretchen “is all this sneaking around.  For goodness sake Chakotay.  Why didn’t you just come to the door?” She asked, completely confused.  He said nothing but looked over at Phoebe, who had obviously just realized that she had caused the entire mess.  She looked like she might faint or throw up.  Maybe both.

“Because I wouldn’t let him,” she finally admitted.  “He tried and I turned him away.”  At least she had the good grace to look embarrassed about what she’d done.

“Phoebe Alexis Janeway Pierce!”  Gretchen wailed at the top of her voice.

“I thought he was going to zip in, break Kathryn’s heart again and then zip back to wherever he came from.  I was trying to make sure that she didn’t end up any worse off than she already was.”

Dennis rolled his eyes and muttered, “Terrific Phoebe.  Just terrific.”

Gretchen was seething.  “You wanted to make sure that she didn’t end up hurt, and by doing so, you almost sent the best thing that could happen to your sister packing!  Honestly Phoebe!  Sometimes I think that you’re worse now than you were as a child.”

Chakotay looked around the room.  Dennis stood with his arms crossed in front of him, glaring at his wife.  Gretchen looked like she was trying to figure out a way to take Phoebe over her knee despite her age and current condition.  And Eddie, well he looked like Christmas had come early.  Chakotay suppressed the urge to ask the boy if he’d like some popcorn.

Kathryn was eyeing her sister dangerously.  He’d seen that look before.  Just before she’d blown some alien enemy out of the sky.

“Kathryn dear,” said Gretchen, “could you please make sure that Dennis and Chakotay get fed?  Seems like the three of you are the only ones who are going to have dinner tonight.”  Max barked as if to remind his owner that she’d promised him dinner as well.

The tense room suddenly erupted in laughter.  The children joined in with the adults even though they had no idea why everyone was laughing.

“Come on,” Gretchen said with a sigh, “let’s go eat before someone else gets in trouble.”

Chakotay helped Kathryn up and everyone started toward the dining room.  Except Phoebe.  “Wait a minute.  None of this excuses what Katie-Jane did today.”

A collective groan went up in the room.  “Phoebe, would you get over it already?” Dennis cried.

Little K-J, who thought she’d been pardoned for her crimes, looked up at her mother with horror.

“Dennis…” she began.

“What if she promises to never do it again?  Will that calm you down?”

Phoebe looked from her husband to her daughter and back again. “I suppose so, yes.”

“Good.  Katie-Jane Pierce, do you promise never to do that again?” Dennis asked with a wink.  She nodded her head vigorously.  “Oh yes Daddy, I promise I’ll never let Kotay in the backyard ever again.”

“Fabulous,” Gretchen cried out at full volume, cutting off any further discussion.  “Let’s eat!”

Chakotay picked up the little girl and spun her over his head.  She shrieked with joy as he air-planed her all the way into the dining room.

Kathryn, hands on her hips, blocked her sister’s way out of the living room.  “Honestly Phoebe!  What the hell were you thinking?  You need to learn to mind your own business.”

Phoebe gave her sister her best contrite look.  “Don’t be too mad at me Katie,” she pleaded, calling her by the nickname that she alone had always used for her sister.  “You did tell me that you never wanted to see him again.  And everything turned out all right didn’t it?”

Kathryn rolled her eyes and shook her head in disgust.  “Yes, and you’re lucky it did.  Because if it hadn’t and I’d ever found out what you did…”

“It’s not nice to threaten the life of a pregnant woman.  Forgive me will you?  Besides the baby needs to eat.”

“Oh that’s a new low for you.  Using your unborn child to save your own hide.  Well your luck is running overtime today,” Kathryn said poking her finger lightly into her sister’s belly.  “I’m feeling very generous at the moment, so I’m going to let this one slide.”

“Oh thank you Katie,” Phoebe said as she looped her arm through her sister’s and escorted her towards the dining room.

“You know,” the younger of the Janeway sisters said, leaning in so she wouldn’t be overheard, “he has a gorgeous ass.”

“Shut up Phoebe.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later after everyone had gone, and they had bade Gretchen goodnight, Kathryn and Chakotay ascended the stairs hand in hand.
Dinner had been interesting.  Gretchen led him through his initial discomfort by asking him questions about himself.  After all, with the exception of Kathryn, what did anyone really know about him?  He told them about his childhood, his family and his desire for all things Starfleet.  He told them how his father believed him to be contrary because he wanted nothing to do with the old ways and how he hadn’t cared.  He just wanted to be surrounded by the stars.
Shortly into the conversation Dennis had joined in.  Phoebe listened but said nothing.  The twins laughed and bickered amongst themselves.
As everyone else was caught up in the conversation, Kathryn took the opportunity to feed part of her dinner to the dog.  This was evidently a common occurrence, as the animal had been glued to her side since they’d all been seated.
Gretchen had assigned the seats.  She sat at the head of the table with her daughters on either side.  The men had been seated in the middle of the table, each with a child to their right.  Mrs. Janeway had told the children to choose a side.  Still suspicious, Phoebe had not been happy when K-J plunked herself down next to Chakotay.  She gave a little sigh but kept her thoughts to herself.
Kathryn’s mother had indeed cooked enough food for an army.  The family was treated to turkey with all the trimmings.  There had been plenty for Chakotay to eat, and despite being a vegetarian, even he commented that the turkey smelled wonderful.
And there was Kathryn, trying to fool them into thinking that she’d eaten her dinner by herself.
Without missing a beat of the conversation, Chakotay picked up the platter of turkey.  Confused looks turned to amused ones when they saw him calmly refill Kathryn’s plate.  Even Phoebe had to admit, however begrudgingly, that it was cute.
Kathryn watched as he set the platter back on the table, then stared at her plate.  Not only had she been caught red handed, but he’d actually put more on her plate than she’d originally been served.  She sighed and began to eat again.
However just a few minutes later, as Chakotay was telling a story from his adolescence that had everyone in stitches, she attempted to sneak another piece of her turkey to the dog.
This time Chakotay reached across her plate and gently, but firmly took hold of her wrist and guided her hand back to the table.  Dennis and Phoebe exchanged amused glances while Gretchen outright laughed.  Kathryn sheepishly looked up at Chakotay who winked at her then inclined his head toward her plate.
“Eat! You need that more than Max does.  You are much too thin and the dog is too fat.  You need to start eating your own dinners.”
The family had all waited for her reaction.  Anticipation hovered over the table like a thick fog.  Kathryn only nodded and began to eat her dinner.  The adults all stared, stunned to silence.  Chakotay continued on with his story from the exact point where he’d left off.
When Dennis asked if Chakotay’s family was on Earth or back on Dorvan, he answered that he had only his sister on Dorvan, and a cousin in Ohio.  An uncomfortable silence settled around the table as he continued on to say that the rest of his family had been killed by the Cardassians.  His voice caught as he spoke.
Kathryn took his hand in hers and held it tight as he tried to maintain his composure.  He looked at her and she gave him a look that said it all.   Suddenly in that moment, she was the strong one and he was drawing from that strength.  This did not escape Gretchen’s attention or Phoebe’s for that matter.
“We can be your family if you want Kotay,” K-J said, breaking the silence.  Eddie echoed the sentiment with a loud “Yeah!”  Kathryn leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek.  Emotions welled up inside him and threatened to overtake him.
“I’d like that,” he said choking up.
“So would we,” Gretchen had answered.
On her way out, Phoebe had taken him aside and apologized for her behavior.  “I think I misjudged you Chakotay,” she told him.  But this didn’t stop her from warning him that he’d better take good care of her sister.
It was a promise he was happy to keep.
“Where did mom have you put your things?” Kathryn asked, interrupting his musings.
“Over here,” he said indicating the first door on the right.
“Really?” she said softly.  He couldn’t quite place the look on her face.
 “Is that a problem?” he asked questioningly.  She smiled sweetly at him.  “Not for me.”
When they stopped in front of the closed door, Kathryn stepped close to Chakotay.  Her mouth was barely an inch from his.  “I guess this is goodnight then.”  He felt awkward as he answered, “I guess so...”
She leaned in and captured his mouth with hers while he was still speaking.  Her arms drifted up his back and neck until her fingers were in his hair.  Pulling his head closer she deepened the kiss.  His arms went around her waist and held on as Kathryn kissed him breathless.  He could feel this kiss all the way to his toes and he was painfully aware of his penis hardening against her belly.  “Too early,” his mind tried to tell him, but tell that to his lips.  He couldn’t stop even if he wanted to and he certainly didn’t want to.
Kathryn was tickling the sensitive area behind his upper teeth and he moaned.   He knew that he needed to stop because even though she was happier than she’d been in a long time, she was still not on stable ground emotionally.  He didn’t want to move too fast.  He wanted to protect her even if that meant from himself.  But damn it, her mouth was still working his over voraciously and he gave in.  Chakotay knew he needed to break it up… soon.
Eventually, Kathryn did the dirty work for him.  She pulled away then promptly bit his nose.  “Goodnight Chakotay,” she said in a breathy whisper.  Then she kissed him in the exact spot where she’d bitten him only moments before.  With a saucy little wave she went off down the hall and disappeared around the corner before he could utter a word.
He stood there panting and hard as a rock.  He quickly slipped into his room.  That was the last thing that Gretchen Janeway needed to witness.  Standing with his back pressed up against the door, he tried to catch his breath.  He willed his erection to subside, but it was showing no signs of surrender.  It had been given a taste of Kathryn Janeway and it wanted more.
“Damn,” he muttered.  He was going to have to take care of this himself.  He looked to see if there was a bathroom inside the room and immediately saw that there was.  He definitely didn’t need to get caught roaming the hallways, looking for a bathroom to wash off the semen he’d spilled all over himself.  Oh, Mrs. Janeway! I didn’t want to force myself on your emotionally fragile daughter so I jerked off instead.  Hope you don’t mind, now can you show me to the bathroom? I need to wash all this cum off of my hands, he thought outrageously, as he envisioned the scenario.
He chuckled at his crazy daydream as he undid his pants then started to the bathroom when there was a knock on his door.
“Great,” he thought.  Kathryn had spent seven years telling him that her mother was a mind reader.  Now all he could think was that she’d picked up on his horny thoughts and was here to let him have it.
Chakotay opened the door and used it to hide his raging hard on.  He poked his head around to see what Mrs. Janeway wanted.  It would be a lot easier to have a discussion with Kathryn’s mother if “little Chakotay” wasn’t poking his way out to say ‘hello!’
But instead of Gretchen there stood Kathryn, a sly smile on her lips.  Where little Chakotay had been looking to say a quick hello, he now was looking for an introduction.  He winced.
She continued staring at him.  He was so flustered that he’d forgotten to say anything.  Finally she blurted out.  “You’re in my room.”
He was confused “Wha… what?”
“I said, you’re in my room.”  She motioned with a shrug of her shoulders and a toss of her head.  “This is my room”.  It took him a minute longer before he could understand what she had said.  Think with the big head and not the little one man, he scolded himself.
He stepped back from the door and she slid inside closing it be it behind her.
“Kathryn, I’m sorry!  I thought this was the room where I’d left my things.”  He pointed to the area where his bag should have been.  There it was.  Now he was even more confused.
“It is,” she said quietly.
“But your mother put me in here,” he sputtered.
“I know.”
“But why didn’t you say something in the hallway?” he sputtered on.  Kathryn simply looked at him with that same sly smile.  Her eyebrow lifted as she approached him.
By way of an answer she slid her arms around his neck and gave him a fiery kiss.
Chakotay moved his hands to the back of her head and held her steady against his lips. He had dreamed of this for so long.  The kiss in the hallway had been just an appetizer.  And now he knew what Kathryn Janeway really tasted like.
Opening the buttons on his shirt, she removed it without him realizing she’d done it.  It wasn’t until he felt her hand slipping inside his shorts that he was able to think at all.  Pushing her away gently he said, “No, no.  I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
“Why ever not?” She asked, nose crinkled in confusion.
“It’s too soon.   Everything is going too fast.  It just isn’t right.”
She looked unsure.  “You don’t want me,” she said flatly.  There was no question in her words.  He moved after her as she began to walk away.  Not realizing that she had also relieved him of his trousers, which were now down around his ankles, he stumbled and fell into her.  She grabbed him and steadied him on his feet.  But he would not let go of her.
They looked at each other and laughed.  “Smooth, huh?” he asked.
She giggled, but then became instantly somber.  “I’ll just get a few of my things and sleep next door.”  She tried to move past him to the dresser but he held her arms firmly.
“Kathryn, don’t misunderstand me.  I do want you.”  Taking her hand in his own he covered the bulging cock straining against his briefs. “Can’t you feel how much I want you?  But it’s not right.  It’s too soon and… I just don’t want to take advantage of you that way.”
She looked like she might cry.  This time for a different reason.  Taking her hand away and placing it on his cheek, she said, “You would never take advantage of me; could never take advantage of me, because I’m giving myself to you.  I want you and I’m no longer afraid to admit it.  I want to feel you next to me, inside me.  I want to feel alive; like a woman again and only you can make that happen.”
She embraced him and buried her face in his neck.  “I need you, Chakotay.  You’re the only one who knew Kathryn out there. And now you’re the only one who can bring her home.”
The warmth of her breath on his throat as she spoke made it hard for him to breathe.  He hadn’t thought of making love to her in those terms.  He had only thought that it was too soon and she wasn’t ready.  But now he wasn’t so sure.  What better way to make her feel like Kathryn and not Captain Janeway?  What better way to feel feminine than to be made love to and to make love with a man.  Particularly when that man loved her and wanted whatever made her happy.
Slowly his arms went around her.  Again he wondered if he was thinking with the wrong head, but this time it just felt right.
Almost as if she knew what decision he’d come to, Kathryn nipped playfully at his ear.
It was like waving a red flag in front of a raging bull.  He needed no more encouragement.  He went after the first thing his lips could reach, which in their position was the base of her throat.  This time he bit her.
Judging from her reaction he knew he’d found a very good spot.  She stiffened and her moan of pleasure was the best thing he’d ever heard.  His groin tightened painfully.
“Ka… Kathryn I have to get out of these things,” he whispered.  The waist band was beginning to cut off his circulation.
Suddenly Kathryn dropped to her knees and began to remove his shoes and socks.  Laying them aside, she lifted one leg at a time to remove his pants.  Chakotay was mesmerized by her slow, deliberate and very sensuous movements.  She took the time to fold his trousers before carefully putting them with his shoes and socks.
She smiled up at him as she reached for the offending briefs.  “Let me take care of that for you,” she said simply.  But the husk in her voice and the lust in those blue eyes left no doubt what she had in mind.
He felt a surge of panic.  “No, don’t do…” he stammered trying to remove her hands from his underwear.
“Chakotay, there is such thing as being too much of a gentleman,” she said softly.
He nodded his understanding.  She was very anxious to have their relationship start off normally.  She didn’t want to be babied.  Kathryn wanted for them to just be a man and a woman; equals in every way.
“Give and take,” he said.  She smiled brightly knowing that he understood her.
“Exactly,” she said then proceeded to strip away the last barrier between them.
She didn’t take him in her mouth right away.  First she touched him with her delicate hands, stroking him lovingly.  His cock was very large and veined with need.  Kathryn ran her fingertips lightly across the inflamed lines that streaked across his penis.  They were so engorged with blood that they looked like they could burst at any moment.
That has to be uncomfortable, Kathryn thought.  She looked up at him and found him spellbound by the way her hands caressed his cock.  Their eyes met and she could see the longing in his.
Pre-come was starting to flow out of him now and Kathryn ran her hands over it to use as lubrication.  She slicked it over his entire penis, and then began to use one hand to piston up and down the shaft while circling her palm over the still-dribbling head.
His cock was on fire.  “Kathryn” he groaned. “Oh yes, Kathryn,” he grunted as his eyes rolled closed.
Kathryn smiled at him, not that he noticed.  His face was a mask of pure pleasure and she felt powerful.  Holding the head up against his stomach she began to plant light airy kisses to the vein running along the underside of the shaft.  He thought he might die from the pleasure.
Up and down the butterflies landed staying only a moment, before fluttering away to alight upon the next spot.
“Oh. Kathryn. Oh!”  His hips were thrusting and his legs trembling.  He was going to come and it was going to be powerful.  “I’m going to …” he started to warn.  But she could already feel the vein she was kissing begin to throb, so she quickly ran her tongue up the length of him then swallowed him whole.
Chaktoay tried to hold back but once she engulfed his cock with her mouth she had only time to move her head once then twice before he came with a loud roar.  He thrust into her mouth while she gently kneaded his balls and swallowed all he had to give.
When he finished, he stood breathless, holding Kathryn’s head against his stomach, which she was kissing and licking softly.  Taking great gulps of air, he ran his fingers through her hair.  She’d let it grow since they’d returned home, not spending a moment thinking of such things as haircuts.  He loved it long.  And the sight of that fiery red head moving between his legs had been almost more than he could handle.
And damn, that woman had a wicked, wicked mouth.  If he’d known how wicked he never would have survived on Voyager.
“I don’t think I’ve ever come that hard before in my life,” he said, still panting.  “No, I know I haven’t.  I’d remember that.”
He could feel her smile against him.  “Come here,” he said as he lifted her to her feet.  Once more their lips met in a scorching kiss.
He could taste himself on her mouth and loved her even more for it.
“I’ve been waiting to do this all day,” he said against her lips.  Sliding his hands beneath her sweater and over the soft skin of her back, he smiled when he realized he had been right all along.  There was nothing underneath.
“Take this off for me.  I want to see my hands on you.”  As Kathryn lifted the sweater over her head, Chakotay slid his hands around to cover her breasts.
She was not as careful with her clothes as she had been with his, tossing the article of clothing over her head with no hesitation.  She looked down to see his honey-colored hands on her pale skin.  The sight was purely erotic.
Chakotay circled his thumbs over her nipples and then bent to take one in his mouth.  She watched his jaw flex as he took long hard sucks.  “Mmmmm,” she moaned, as she cradled his head to her breast.  Running her fingers through his hair, she found it to be lightly dusted with gray.
Kathryn bent to kiss his hair then yelped with pleasure as he bit her nipple.  Chakotay couldn’t get enough.  She was like a narcotic to him.  The more he sampled, the more he needed.
Reaching behind her, he scooped her straight up into his arms.  Her backside rested on his forearms and her legs dangled off the floor.  Her breasts were level with his face and he kissed them as he walked toward the bed.
With a carnal growl he threw her onto the bed then lowered himself on top of her.  He planted his elbows on either side of her head and fanned her hair out around her.
They lay there gazing at each other until Kathryn moved suddenly and rolled so she was astride him.  He tugged on her nipples lightly until she became focused on the tingling sensation that was speeding through her body.  Noticing her distraction he flipped her over so she was lying on her stomach, giggling while he had her pinned in place.
Chakotay kissed his way down her back until he met the fabric of her jeans.  “Help me take these off will you?” he muttered.  Helping her roll over so she could unzip them he then watched her struggle to get out of them.
“Hey stop staring at my tits and give me a hand would you?”  Grinning he removed first one leg then the other.  Now she lay flat on her back in only her skimpy panties.  This was a spectacle he never thought he’d see.  Scattered across the front of the almost completely sheer material were tiny embroidered butterflies.
“Oh goody,” he remarked throatily.  “More butterflies for me.”
She giggled and raised herself up on her elbows to watch what he would do next.
Chakotay kissed each and every little butterfly.  Then rolling her over to kiss the ones on the backside he was met with the sight of only her beautiful ass beneath the wholly transparent fabric.  “Hmmm… nobody back here,” he mused, fighting back the urge to rip the panties to shreds.  He didn’t want to do that.  They had been such a surprise to him and already he knew that he’d want to see them on her again.  Instead he ran his tongue over the crack of her butt through the material.  Kathryn shrieked and giggled even harder.  He planted a firm kiss on each cheek then rolled her onto her back.
Chakotay peeled away the panties and then slowly and carefully discarded them in favor of a new plaything.  Bringing her legs over his shoulders he then hunkered down in front of her.  Softly he brought his arms around and over her thighs then hooked his hands to the insides.
Gently he pried her legs apart so she was open to him.  He could smell her and he breathed in deep.  Nuzzling against her curls for a moment, he came away with a wet face.  She was back up on her elbows, intently watching and waiting
“Kathryn,” he said then breathed her in again.  “You’re so wet for me.”  She looked at him with her lust glazed eyes.
He began by lapping eagerly at her.  Licking at the juices that were collecting and never able to cleanse her because the harder he tried the more moisture began to flow.  She ground herself against his mouth as he nipped and sucked feverishly.
Kathryn began to whimper helplessly.  Chakotay peeked up and saw that she was playing with her nipples, tugging and twisting them as she writhed under his lips.  He became hard again instantly.  He slid his arm up over her belly to claim one nipple as his own, and then began to massage her tit.
He could barely wait until he could plunge inside her so he decided to step up the pace.  He wanted her wet and messy when the time came.  It would help her take on his size.
Using his lips, he opened her up so that her clit was unsheathed and open to his tongue, which he used as a whip back and forth over the hard little button.  He then began to move his head from side to side, which in turn helped his tongue move faster and faster.
Kathryn’s whimpers turned to a fierce wail.  She scrambled about on the bed as if trying to simultaneously get closer to and farther away from his very talented tongue.  Her juices flowed onto his tongue and then spill over.  He knew that she was close.  “Oh God, oh God ooooooh God,” she shrieked as her body began to tremble all over.
Grabbing onto whatever she could find, which happened to be the slats in the headboard.  Kathryn began to heave off of the bed, but Chakotay’s tongue was right there with her, rapidly thrashing back and forth against her battered clit.
Then finally it happened, she bucked and flailed around as she came hard against his face.  He did not relent as she continued to thrash her head from to and fro.  Instead he nipped at her clit none too gently, causing her to come all over again.
He allowed her some time to come back down then said, “I didn’t realize you were a religious person Kathryn.”
“I’m not.  Normally.  But when you see the existence of a higher power you have to acknowledge it.”
He chuckled and kissed her.  “Are you ready for me baby?”
“Oh yes,” she breathed out.  “I’m ready for all of you.”
Even still he took her slowly, inch by agonizing inch.  When he was completely enclosed within her, he lay still watching her face.  She was covered with perspiration and entirely beautiful.
Kathryn moved her hips a little and he knew she was ready to get going.  He only hoped he could control himself.  She thrust her hips twice.  “Do you need a map?” she asked innocently.
“Oh woman I’m going to *map* you!” he sputtered, then started to thrust into her with long sure strokes.  In no time he was pounding into her with all of his might.  Her legs were still draped over his shoulders and they sawed back and forth over him as he continued to push himself into her.
His orgasm was approaching at terrifying speed and he idly wondered if he’d ever be able to hold back and love her properly.  He didn’t see that happening for a long, long time.  He wanted her to come first and thankfully it didn’t take long.
He was able to hold it off until she was clamping down hard on his cock and then with a howl, he let go and came deep inside her.
They lay quietly in each others arms, still stroking soft skin and occasionally kissing.  Chakotay brushed the damp hair away from her forehead so he could see her eyes.  “Kathryn?”
“Hmmm?” she responded.  She was lost in a haze of ecstasy.
“Now that we’re together, what do you want to do?  Where do you want to live?  On Earth?  Space?  We have infinite possibilities here.”
Infinite possibilities definitely thrilled the explorer in her.  Propping herself up on one elbow she answered instantly.  “No, not space.  I don’t ever want to go out there again.  I’ve had enough to last more than one lifetime, haven’t you?”
“I have,” he responded quietly.  He had been hoping she felt the same way.
I want to stay here on Earth.  In this house, with my mother.  I want to be near my family, if that’s okay with you.”
He propped himself up as well.  I’d like that too.  Live a quiet happy life.  Maybe have a family of our own.”
She smiled.  “I’d love to have our own family.  I’ve always wanted babies.  Just not enough until now I guess.  My whole life I’ve wanted them but I always put my career first.”  She frowned.  “Maybe I’m too selfish to be a good mother,” she mused.
“Are you kidding? You’ll be the best mother.” He said excitedly.  “Our little girl will be lucky to have you.”
“I don’t want a little girl… at least not right away.  I want a little boy with big brown eyes, dimples and everything else that makes his father so gorgeous inside and out.”
He shook his head.  “No, first we need to have a little girl, with red hair and blue eyes.  And Katie-Jane’s spirit.  She’s such a beautiful little girl.  Just as adorable
as I’ve imagined you to be at that age.”
“She is a wonderful child, and to tell you the truth I wouldn’t mind having one just like her.  But first... first I want a baby warrior.  Not an angry one though.  Just a happy little warrior. In Maquis diapers.”
“No, no, no,” he said.  “A teeny red-headed Captain.  Well another one anyway.”
“I am not teeny,” she said in mock outrage.  He laughed.  “Yes you are.”
They bantered playfully.  “Am not.”
“Are too.”
“Well if I’m so teeny, then how did you get that monster inside of me?” Pointing to his stirring erection.
“Monster?”  He cried with feigned indignation.
“It’s like a sea serpent,” she laughed.
“Well I’ve never had any complaints and I certainly didn’t hear any in the middle of all that screaming you were doing.”  He pretended to be hurt.
Kathryn patted his shoulder with her free hand.  “I’m sorry sweetheart.  I meant it in a good way when I asked how you got that monster inside of me.”  She broke up again.
Chakotay sat up, pulling her with him.  He positioned her so that her thighs slid along his until her legs locked behind his back.  “You want to know how?” He whispered.  “Watch.”  And in one sure thrust he was inside her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He was awakened later by Kathryn rolling over and away from him.  She lie with her arms over her head sprawled out so he had a great view of her body.  So beautiful, he thought.  He didn’t want to leave her or their bed, but he knew that he had some unfinished business.  He had the urge to put it off again, to kiss Kathryn awake and ravish her.  But he knew two things were for sure; she needed the rest, and he needed to take care of some unpleasant business.

Carefully he slipped out from under the covers and padded to his bag.  He pulled out a robe, and put it on.  With one last look at Kathryn, he left the room.

The downstairs was quiet as he made his way to the terminal in the family room.  He dreaded the task at hand, but knew that it needed to be done.  He perused the row of transmission presets.  Finding the one he wanted, he pressed it then sat down.

The com terminal signaled an incoming message in Tuvok and T’Pel’s home on Vulcan.  Seven of Nine ran to answer.  She had been expecting a call from Chakotay all day and was beginning to worry.   Tuvok beat her to the com.  He was a little annoyed by the way she kept running to their com unit with the intent of answering every incoming transmission.  Looking at the code for the call, he became a little more annoyed.  Then he became annoyed at himself for becoming annoyed.

Annoyance was one emotion Vulcan’s seemed to have in abundance.

He had been expecting to hear from his longtime friend for days now.  His houseguest had apprised him of the situation upon her arrival.  Knowing that the cause of this late night call was standing before him, he decided to save Kathryn Janeway anymore pain.

“Seven, this call is originating from the Janeway home in Indiana.  And since it is logical to say that this call is not for you, I will answer it.  Please afford me some privacy,” he said curtly.

“Very well,” she said.  She did not want to see Kathryn Janeway.  Nor did she want her former captain to see her.  Seven knew that by now Chakotay would have broken her former mentor’s heart.  She found herself experiencing the human emotion known as guilt.  Guilt was usually irrelevant, but somehow it was not this time.  She decided to ignore it and hover close by in case Chakotay’s transmission suddenly came through.

“Hello Tuvok,” Chakotay said.  He was genuinely glad to see his former shipmate.

Both eyebrows seemed to collide with the Vulcan’s hairline.  “Greetings Captain Chakotay.”  It is pleasant to see you this day.”

“Same here, and that’s just Chakotay to you,” he smiled.  “How are you feeling?”

“At this point I am ‘feeling’ very well.  My treatment has ended and I am taking time to recover and meditate.”

“That’s great Tuvok,” Chakotay enthused.  Cutting off all pleasantries, he awkwardly switched gears.  “I’m calling to speak with Seven.”  Chakotay’s guilty look told him everything.

“Indeed.  She is just in the next room.  I will get her.  Good night… Chakotay and please give my greetings to Captain Janeway.”  Tuvok rose and went to get Seven.  She rushed off in excitement when he told her that the transmission had in reality been for her.

Tuvok did not mention the lateness of the hour in Indiana, nor Chakotay’s bathrobe.  He went to warn T’Pel that their guest was about to require their aid.

“Chakotay!” Seven cried as she fairly bounced into the chair.  “I was beginning to worry.  I expected to hear from you hours ago.”

I’m sorry Seven.  I didn’t mean to worry you.”

His mood was gloomy she noted.  And he seemed nowhere near as happy to see her as she was to see him. Confirming that the incoming transmission code was the same as before Seven stated bluntly, “You are not on the transport to Vulcan.  You are in Indiana.”

“Yes… I am.”

“Your conversation with Captain Janeway ran longer than anticipated I assume.”

He nodded.  “Something like that.  Seven, we have to talk.”

“Yes we certainly do,” she gushed.  “I have been offered a position of greater importance than I interviewed for and they want me to begin right away.  They will take care of the details of our move and even organize it; however it is up to us to find a home.  Chakotay you must come to Vulcan right away so we can attend to this matter.”

He sucked in his breath, regretting the pain he knew this would cause.  “Seven.  I’m… I’m not coming.”

She looked at him in silence then said, “I was hoping you would not say that.”

“I’m so sorry.  So sorry.  I don’t want to hurt you.”  He didn’t think sharing the details of the day was a good idea, but there were things she deserved to know.

“I searched my heart as you asked.  And although I had no real plans to do so, I finally came here to talk to Kathryn.”

She nodded sadly.  Then closed her eyes in pain as he continued.  “I do care for you.  I care so much, but I will never get over her.  And that would not be fair to you.”

“I know now that, I’m where I belong.”

One tear escaped from Seven’s tightly closed eyes. “I have no wish to spend my life in another woman’s shadow.”  Then she began to sob.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few minutes later, when he ended the transmission, Chakotay made his way to the stairs.
“Chakotay?”  He heard Gretchen’s voice calling from the kitchen.  “That you?”
He turned and went to her.  She was sitting at the table with an old fashioned tea pot before her.
“Join me for some tea.” She said indicating the chair next to her.
He knew that this was less about sharing some mid night tea than it was about what she needed to say to him.  “Sure,” he said as he sat down.  She poured him a cup and waited as he added his sugar before she spoke again.
“I overheard some of your conversation.  I’m sorry.”
He hadn’t closed the door since it was so late.  But really he hadn’t said anything that he minded Gretchen hearing.  “That alright.  Besides I’m the one who left the door open.”
She smiled faintly then came to the point.  “I wonder if you realize just how bad off Kathryn really is.”
“Yes.  I think I do,” he said quietly.  “Although I have to admit that in all the years I’ve known her, I’ve never seen her like this.”
“Me either,” Gretchen added.  “And I’ve known her a damn sight longer.  You do know that she has a history of depression?”
Chakotay nodded.  “She went through an episode on Voyager.  Closed herself off in her quarters for quite some time.  And no amount of talking to her about it helped me reach her.  It finally took a red alert to get her out of her quarters,” he remembered.  “Even afterwards it took some time before she was back to normal.”
Gretchen looked off into the distance.  “Then you do know.  She wasn’t always like this.  It started when she got older.  Some time after her 17th birthday.  Sometimes there were very good reasons for her depression.”
“Like the accident with Admiral Janeway and her fiancé,” he interjected.
She nodded.  “Yes, like the accident.  Other times.  Well there were reasons that didn’t make much sense to anyone but Kathryn.  But I’m worried, Chakotay.  I’ve never seen her rebound so quickly as she did today.  I don’t think it’s real.  I think it’s temporary and most likely caused by everything that’s happened today.”
He sipped his tea.  “I agree.  In fact I’ve already seen a couple of chinks in the armor.”  Setting down her cup, Gretchen sighed.
“Even though we agree, I don’t think you understand.  Lord knows that I’m happy to see you and thrilled at her response to you being here.  But this is not something that you can fix by sweeping her off her feet and making love to her until she’s too exhausted to think.”
He looked at her.  Was she saying what he thought she was saying?
“Something else I overheard tonight,” she confirmed.
“You heard us?”  He was suddenly humiliated.  “Oh Gretchen I’m so…”
She grabbed his arm.  “Don’t be embarrassed.  I’ll admit it was awkward for me to hear it, but for the first time since coming back to us she felt something Chakotay!  I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything as beautiful in my life.”
He knew what she meant of course, but still he was very self-conscious.  And Kathryn! Well, she would be mortified.
“My point is,” Gretchen continued.  “This is going to take real, hard work.  And it will devastate Kathryn if you decide later on that it’s not for you.”
“Wait wait wait!” Chakotay cut in.  “I’m here to stay Mrs. Janeway.  I’m not here looking for a fast roll in the hay if that’s what you think.  I want to marry her.  I’ll tell you now, and we’ll never have to speak of it again.  You will in no way have to worry that I’ll walk out on Kathryn.”
His voice got a little louder than he intended.  “Do you think that if I were looking for easy, I’d be here now?  I’ve seen your daughter at her absolute worst.  I’ve seen her do things you couldn’t begin to imagine.”
“But…” Gretchen tried to interject only to be cut off.
“That woman upstairs was not always a candidate for charm school, you know.  In fact there were times where she was down right ugly.  And I’m not talking about her appearance.  This situation is nothing compared to what we faced on Voyager.  And it’s certainly nothing that’s going to make me consider walking away. ”
He felt wrung out by the eruption and wondered if he should apologize to Kathryn’s mother for the way he’d gone off on her.  He ventured a look at her.
Gretchen was sitting there looking at him with adoration in her eyes.  She reached over and squeezed his hand tightly.  “Good,” was all she said.
They sat in companionable silence drinking their tea.  Finally Gretchen’s nosey side got the better of her.  “Have you two even had a chance to talk about your plans?”
“Barely.  But I do know that Kathryn wants to stay here, in this house, with you.  Near her family.”
“And you?  Do you want that?  What about your family?” she asked.
“We can always visit my sister, or have her out to visit us.  And my cousin is only a transport away.  I think it’s a great idea, if it’s alright with you…”
“Well I’m not going to pretend that I’m not thrilled to hear all of this.”
Chakotay grinned as he stood up.  “Somehow, I knew you’d be happy about that.”  He leaned over to give her a kiss on the cheek.
“You’re family is as welcome here as you.  Just see that you take good care of my little girl.  And make me some more grandbabies soon.”
Kathryn had warned him that this kind of nagging was going to start shortly.  He had no idea just how soon she meant.
He began to leave the kitchen when she snickered, “We’re going to have to get some sound proofing on that room of yours.”
His cheeks grew hot.  “Goodnight Gretchen.”
Her hoot of laughter followed him all the way to the top of the stairs.
When he returned to their room, Kathryn was laying on her side still sleeping.  He eased his way back under the covers slowly, but still she awoke.
“Hey, sorry I woke you,” he said slipping up behind and wrapping himself around her.
“Hmmmm…” she murmured groggily, kissing the hand that caressed her cheek. She rolled over to face him.  “Where did you go?” she asked sleepily.
He was silent, not knowing whether to tell her the whole story now or wait.  She picked up on his indecision.  “Is something wrong?”  She was decidedly more alert now.
He immediately realized his mistake.  “No, nothing’s wrong,” he soothed.  She was alarmed now so putting this off was not an option.
“But there is something I need to tell you.”
She sat up anxiously.  This was the part where her world came crashing down around her, she thought.  “What is it?”  Her voice was shaking.
“I haven’t been honest with you.”  Her face went ghostly white.  “Hear me out Kathryn.  You might want to stop me, but hear me out, okay?”
She nodded uneasily.
“I told you that Seven and I had only been back from Dorvan a few days ago.  That’s not true.  We got back over 3 weeks ago.”
Kathryn didn’t understand the problem but he’d asked for her patience and allowed him to continue.
“I already told you that I couldn’t move on with Seven until I cleared everything up with you.”  She nodded.  “And that I avoided coming to you as hard as I could.”  Another nod.
“What I never told you is that I all but promised Seven that I would meet her on Vulcan… today.  In fact I should be there now.”
She was wide eyed.  “You never really intended on coming here did you?”  Ashamed, he shook his head.  “You were just going to go off and forget about me?”
“That was my plan from the start.  I was going to tell Seven that I’d been to see you and that it was over.  I was going to think and meditate on it until I could work you out of my soul.  I never had any real intentions of seeing you, until my spirit guide told me I had to.”
At this last bit a smiled twisted her lips.  She was trying not to laugh.  “Your spirit guide made you do it?”  She relaxed against the headboard.  “That’s your dirty little secret?  My stars you had me terrified,” she giggled.
He still wore a guilty expression and couldn’t meet her eyes.  She didn’t see what the big deal was.  Unless… she thought.
“Chakotay, are you trying to tell me that you’ve changed your mind about us?  Is that why you can’t look at me, because you’ve decided that this is some mistake and you *do* want to be with Seven?  Is that what you meant by saying that you haven’t been honest?”  She was panic stricken now.
His eyes flew straight to hers, “No!  Kathryn that’s not what I meant.  What I am trying to tell you is that I was downstairs talking to Seven.”  She burst into tears at his admission.
“I was breaking it off with her.  I didn’t do it before I asked you to marry me or before I made love to you.  What kind of man makes a commitment like that before he breaks one he’s made to another woman?”
Kathryn covered her eyes as she wept.  “I thought you were trying to tell me that you didn’t want to be with me.  And that you were leaving me to go to her.”
He grabbed her up and squeezed her hard.  “No baby, that’s not what I meant at all.  I just haven’t been true to you.  I should have told you about the situation instead of sneaking out in the middle of the night to break up with Seven.”
Kathryn continued to cry for a time.  This was the very thing he’d discussed with Gretchen in the kitchen.  The wide swinging arcs of emotions she exhibited.
Chakotay rocked her in his arms while trying to calm her with words of love and requests for forgiveness.
“I’m sorry I upset you so, my love,” he cooed in her ear, when she had finally quieted.  “I picked all the wrong words.  I’m just such a blubbering idiot where you’re concerned.”
Kathryn looked up at him; her face tear stained and kissed him.  “You’re not blubbering idiot…” she sniffed.
He rested his forehead against hers.  “Just a man in love,” he finished for her.
“Same thing,” they said in unison then laughed.
Crisis averted, Chakotay snuggled them down into the bed.  He lay there deciding that the two of them were going to make a visit to Starfleet Medical the next afternoon.
“What did you say to her?”  she asked.
His thoughts were so far away from his conversation with Seven that it took him a moment to realize what she was asking.
“Just that I knew now that I was where I belonged,” he whispered.  “I am.”  Kathryn sighed in satisfaction.  “What did she say?”
He cupped her face in his palm. “She said that she had no desire to live her life in another woman’s shadow.  And that’s exactly where she would have been.”  He kissed her softly.
“You must have spoken for a long time.  I got up a while ago to use the bathroom and you were already gone.”  Chakotay laughed.
“I was waylaid by your mother on my way back up. She wanted to know my intentions towards you.” He laughed as she rolled her eyes and exclaimed, “Oh brother.”
“Mmmm hmmm.” He rested his head on her bare breast.  “She uh… thinks that if we’re going to live here with her that we’ll need to have sound proofing installed.”  Kathryn groaned.  “Oh nooooo.  She said that?”
He kissed one breast then the other.  “Among other things.”
“Do I want to know?”
“Probably not,” he said while he sponged her nipple with his tongue.  Looking up at her he laughed.  “Although you were right about one thing.”
“What’s that?” she asked running her fingernails up and down his back.
“She told me to make her some more grandbabies.”
Kathryn groaned again.  “Already?  Honestly, that woman has no shame.  Hmmm,” she said, pretending to think.  “Less than one day.  I think that’s a new record, but I’ll have to check with Phoebe to be sure.”
He rested his chin between her breasts and grinned up at her.  “Actually that reminds me.  I think we should both get our boosters updated tomorrow.  Well, really we’ll have to get an update for you and a new panel for me.” He pushed her tits together so he could try to suck both nipples simultaneously.
She eyed him warily.  “Your not on boosters?”  He shook his head.  “Nope.  No sex makes Chakotay a dull boy so why bother?” he asked returning to the task at hand.
“I’m not on them either,” she sputtered.
He flew away from her so fast that he almost pitched over backwards off the bed.
“Why not?”
“Pretty much the same reasons as you.  Plus the fact that no boosters make Kathryn a very celibate girl.  Usually,” she added.  “Chakotay what are we going to do if I’m already pregnant?”
He ran his fingers through his hair.  “Man this whole seduction was pretty ill- conceived.”
“Don’t use that word!” she roared.
He winced.  “Sorry.  Look, the odds are in our favor.  We’ve only done it twice.”
“It only takes one time,” she reminded him.
“Yes dear, I’m well aware of that,” he replied sarcastically.  “Kathryn if you are pregnant already, we’ll deal with it.  Has our timing ever been anything other than bad? he asked.  “We’ll work it out.”
She nodded at him.  “So no more sex until we know for sure?”
“All the more reason to go first thing in the morning,” he grumbled.
Little Chakotay was already filing a formal complaint.
“Oh you poor baby,” she teased.  “Having to do without for a whole five hours.”
“Don’t mock me woman,” he growled.  “Your ‘monster’ is very unhappy about this.  He had plans to have you at least once more tonight.”
“Oh well we can’t very well have an angry purple-headed monster in bed with us, can we?”   She moved to her knees intending on moving down the bed to take him in her mouth.  He had other ideas.
He took her arm and tugged her over onto her side.  She found herself face to face with the great beast.  Like any great leader she took it on without hesitation.
Chakotay spread her legs. “On the other hand my tongue is very pleased,” he muttered, just before plunging it inside of her.”
“Oh God.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Epilogue:  Not quite 2 years later.

The lay in bed facing each other with their tiny daughter between them.  “Why won’t she latch on?” Kathryn wondered aloud in frustration.  “It looked so easy when the nurse was here to help us.”

It certainly had.  But now that it was him offering up her mother’s breast instead of the nurse, little girl Janeway seemed to want no part of it.

“Come on baby girl,” he coaxed.  “Take it.”  But she would not.

“What are we doing wrong, Chakotay?” she asked with a new mother’s distress.  But he didn’t know.

They had decided early on in the pregnancy that since he couldn’t feed the baby, Chakotay could at least play a part by presenting Kathryn’s breast for the baby to latch onto.  He’d read all he could find on the subject.  He’d even practiced tirelessly, albeit with much pleasure, tweaking the nipples to attention for presentation.

Kathryn wasn’t the only one getting frustrated.  If this kid didn’t start eating soon he was going to stop seeing a mechanism for food delivery and start seeing his wife’s magnificent tits.  That wouldn’t do any of them any good.

As if reading his mind, Kathryn said, “Alright Captain pervert, quit fooling around and try again.”  He grinned at her.  “Your mother is not the only mind reader in this family.”  He offered the nipple up once more.

“Please, like I need to be a mind reader when your staring at my boobs like they’re *your* dinner?” she laughed.  “Oh!” Kathryn cried.  She did it!  She did it!”

“She sure did,” he crowed excitedly.  They watched in fascination as the baby drank greedily.

“Look at her go,” Kathryn said in awe.

Chakotay watched his two teeny captains and thought his heart would burst.  He’d gotten his wish; their daughter looked exactly like her mother.  Little tufts of red hair sat atop her head, and although they were told not to count on her eyes to stay blue, he knew that they would.  It would be a gift from the spirits. Just like everything else in his life.  He closed his eyes and offered up a blessing of thanks for the gifts he had been given.

Kathryn and Chakotay had married six weeks after their reunion in Indiana.  The ceremony was held in the backyard of the Janeway family home, under the thinking tree.  Besides the family, the only other guests had been Chakotay’s sister and her family,  Neepak, his cousin from Ohio and his family, Owen Paris who officiated, along with his wife, Tom, B’elanna and Miral.

Kathryn had not been pregnant after their first night together and they had been happy about that.  It gave them time to get the help she so desperately needed.  In the end her sessions with Deanna Troi and the handy little hypo-spray had both been needed to improve her depression.

It had been an up and down battle but by the time they’d marked Voyager’s first anniversary, her condition had already stabilized.  And on first the anniversary of the day that had changed their lives, she confessed to him that she had let her boosters lapse and was ready to have his baby.

Since Phoebe’s baby boy had arrived, Kathryn had been able to think of nothing but having a child.  He had been adamant that they wait.

A terrible fight had ensued.  He was angry that she would do this without consulting him and she was furious that he’d reacted to her gift that way.  The evening had turned into what B’elanna termed ‘the classic Janeway Chakotay F & F.’

They fought and then they fucked.  And less than a month later they were pregnant.

Kathryn’s due date was exactly one month after Voyager’s second anniversary.  But apparently feeling left out of the fun, the littlest Voyager began to make her appearance during the reunion party.

A splatter of fluids on the dance floor trumpeted her imminent arrival.

Now the former captain and first officer of the mighty starship Voyager watched their baby breast feed as if they’d never seen anything so awesome in their lives.  They hadn’t.  Supernovas, Borg cubes, even the wonders of the Q continuum couldn’t compare.

This is how Seven of Nine found them when she approached the hospital room.  She heard them murmuring to each other how overwhelming, breathtaking, and amazing this moment was.

It made her want to vomit.

“How does it feel,” Chakotay asked with wonder.

Kathryn looked up at him and winced. “Ouch!”

“Poor baby,” he said running his fingers through her hair.  “I worked so hard to toughen them up in time.”

“I know.  You poor selfless darling.  Working on my nipples so tirelessly, with no benefit to yourself of course,” she cooed sarcastically at him.  “You know the more I look at her insatiably sucking on my tit, the more she begins to look like you.”

“Hey, she knows a good thing when she sees it,” he said innocently.

Seven rolled her eyes.  She found it all really quite appalling.

She had come to Earth with the intention of going to the party and getting back her man.  She’d dressed in a sexy black gown that revealed her hard, tight body and clung to her large supple breasts.  She was going to make an entrance that no one would soon forget.  However just as she was about to make her approach, she saw Chakotay.  He was helping Kathryn Janeway who was enormously heavy with child, out of their shuttle.

Heavy with his child, Seven thought, and then slipped away unnoticed.

She would not be so lucky this time.  Chakotay had spotted some movement near the door.  And looked up in time to lock eyes with her.

He kissed his wife on the forehead she noted.  “I’ll be right back,” he said softly.  Kathryn looked up at him.

Seven waited, knowing that the former captain would pry and want to know where he was going.  That she would try to stop him from coming to her.

She merely smiled and said, “Okay.”  He kissed her softly on the lips then dropped a light one the baby’s head.”

Kathryn’s eyes followed him as he walked to the door.

Seven hoped that she would see her standing at the door.  It would serve her right for being such a nosey bitch and watching his every move.  But at the point where she would have to turn her head to see behind her, Kathryn’s gaze fell to the child at her breast.  She snuggled down happily.  Seven sneered.

“Hello Seven,” Chakotay said as he closed the door behind him.  “Chakotay,” she purred and slipped her arms around him.  He hugged her in return.

“I didn’t know you were on Earth.  We had to leave the party early last night and never did see you.”  He released her, although she would have been happy to stay in his arms forever.

An awkward silence enveloped them.  “Why don’t you come in and see Kathryn.  I know she’d love to see you.  Especially since she didn’t she didn’t get to visit with you last night.

Ignoring his comments about her former mentor, she said, “I did not attend the celebration.  I had hoped to, but at the last moment, something… well something came up.”

“I’m sorry to hear that.  You were missed,” he remarked genuinely.  Seven took this as a hopeful sign.

 “Did you come just for the party, or did you have other business here in San Francisco?”

She steeled herself.  It was now or never.  “I did not come for the reunion.  I came for you.”  Chakotay stiffened.  “What?”  He truly hoped that what he’d heard was not what she’d meant.

“I wish to resume our association and I thought perhaps you felt the same way.”  She imagined that he was very bored.  Two years with Janeway would be… well very boring.  “I came here for you.  The reunion was just a convenient excuse to do so.”

He stepped away from her.  “Seven, I’m married now.  Kathryn had our baby last night.  That’s why we left the reunion early.”

“I am aware of this.  It does not change how I feel about you.”

He stared back in disbelief.  “It also doesn’t change the way I feel about you. I care about you, but I have a wife and a new daughter. I’m happy.”

“I fail to see how you could be happy with Captain Janeway.  Therefore I am offering myself to you.” she reasoned.

He was angry now.  “First of all, she’s just Kathryn now.  She’s retired.  And secondly, I am happy. Whether you fail to see or acknowledge that is irrelevant.” he said, using her stock phrase against her.

She did not like that.  She opened her mouth to object, but he kept going.

“As I told you before; I’m where I belong.  Now if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to get back inside.”

His tone allowed no room for argument.  Seven knew a waste of time when she ran into one.  “Very well.” she said as she nodded.

“Goodbye Seven,” he told her firmly with a tone of finality.  He watched her turn on her heel and retreat down the hall.

Shaking his head he went back into Kathryn’s hospital room.  Both of his girls were fast asleep. Chakotay eased his way onto the bed behind Kathryn and joined them.

On the front steps of the hospital, Seven encountered an excited group consisting of two women and one little girl.  The little girl looked enough like Kathryn Janeway to be her daughter.  These were obviously her relations, she thought bitterly.

As they passed her on the stairs, the child roared with joy, “Hurry momma, hurry Grandma!  I want to meet my little baby cousin Kes.”

Seven stopped on the landing and listened to them clamor their way inside the hospital.  The doors swished shut cutting off the commotion and leaving her in silence.  “Kes,” she whispered.  The woman whose place she had taken aboard Voyager.

As a Borg she had been given knowledge of a saying:  “The first cut is the deepest.”

But Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero-One, now knew it was really the last.

The End.
